What is Coolum Common?

A collaborative community led project to develop a community garden and sustainability hub in Jack Morgan Park in Coolum Beach.

Community Garden Set to Grow!

We are having another seedling fundraising at the Barely Worn Market

12th of March at the Coolum Civic Centre

8am-10.30am

Come down and meet our team and hear more about how you can be involved in the project and what we have planned for the allocated site in Jack Morgan Park.

Pop by the Accessible Garden which is on the site now and get a selfie with the sunflowers.

Can you help by donating seeds or seedlings for our stall? We can pick them up or you can drop them at the Childrens Garden on Jones Parade/Banksia Ave and we can collect them!

Coolum Beach Pop Up Garden Trail

While we navigate the red tape for the approval for the Coolum Common site we are establishing a network of pop up gardens throughout our local community so people can start to connect, learn, share and grow together in a free and inclusive way. We have two already, one in Jones Parade and one in Jack Morgan Park. Would you like one in your local park?

Jones Parade Children’s Garden.

Located on the corner of Jones Parade and Banksia Ave in Coolum Beach.

Established in 2020 with generous support from Coolum Community Kindergarten and Urbankind this pop up neighbourhood garden is next to kindy and enabled families and children to connect in a safe way during Covid restrictions.

The garden is flourishing and is favourite with local families who tend to it and meet for play dates. It’s a free neighbourhood space for everyone to enjoy so if you live close by pop down to water it, plant in a spare space and meet new friends.

Join our friendly Volunteer Committee

We meet once a month to progress the project, share ideas, organise social events and meet new project partners.

Coolum Accessible Pop Up Garden

Recently constructed in Jack Morgan Park (behind the Bowls Club & opposite C&K).

In collaboration with the Men’s Shed our volunteer committee have designed an inclusive pop up garden to allow wheelchair access for functional gardening and ensure more people can enjoy the space.

We are planting sunflowers as a low maintenance and happy option for the summer and will be replanting them in 2022 with a range of veggies and flowers. We’d love to hear your ideas.

Keep an eye out for our #growhappycoolum project coming soon.
