Urbankind partnered with AFL Queensland, Indooroopilly State High School (ISHS), and the Sherwood Magpies AFC to develop a renewed training and game-day venue at ISHS. This project addressed the capacity challenges faced by the rapidly growing Sherwood Magpies (the largest AFL club in Queensland, experiencing a 326% growth since 2019) and unlocked opportunities for AFL growth in Brisbane's western suburbs.

Key Outcomes

Increased Access: Unlocked 1848 hours of yearly access to the ISHS oval for AFL activities.

Community Growth: Supports the growth of the Sherwood Magpies AFC across all segments, including a significant boost to female participation.

Strategic Development: Creates a pathway to a School of Excellence program at ISHS, fostering AFL pathways for students.

Facility Enhancement: Plans for lighting installation and oval renovations to provide a safe, high-quality playing surface.
