Moira Shire Council engaged Urbankind to develop a recommendation for a robust management model for the new Yarrawonga Multi-Sport Stadium, a crucial project designed to enhance community well-being and expand recreational opportunities.
The Challenge
To recommend a management approach that ensures the stadium's operational viability, maximises community benefit, and aligns with the unique needs of Yarrawonga.
Our Approach
Urbankind employed a Human-Centered Design (HCD) approach, placing the community at the heart of the decision-making process. This involved:
Extensive Stakeholder Engagement: Formal interviews, informal conversations, and community observations to understand user needs and preferences.
Comprehensive Analysis: Qualitative and empirical research, coupled with financial modelling, to assess the feasibility and impact of various management options.
Collaborative Prototyping: Working closely with Moira Shire Council and key stakeholders to refine and improve potential management models.

A detailed review of three potential management models: Moira Shire operated, YMCA (current agreement), and private operator.
Financial models outlining conservative and optimistic utilization scenarios.
A clear recommendation for the preferred management model, tailored to Moira Shire's operational context and community objectives.
