URBANKIND WORKSHOP WITH ADAM CHEYNE
TUESDAY 15TH OCTOBER - 2.30PM to 3.45PM
ABSTRACT
"As cities evolve, public spaces must adapt to meet the changing needs of diverse communities. This workshop explores design thinking principles to reimagine parks and open spaces as dynamic, inclusive hubs for leisure, recreation, and innovation through an urban planning lens. Through an interactive session, participants will learn to use design thinking techniques, explore user perspectives, ideate creative solutions, and prototype concepts that foster vibrant, multi-functional spaces. We'll share case studies showcasing successful urban interventions and discuss strategies for stakeholder engagement. Attendees will gain insights into leveraging design thinking to create parks that seamlessly integrate play, relaxation, cultural expression, and community building. By embracing human-centered design, we can shape urban landscapes that cultivate thriving, resilient cities for all."
